The Shoe Project in Vancouver BC
The Newmont Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre in Olympic Village
162 W 1st Ave #203
Vancouver, British Columbia
PIRS is proud and excited to be presenting the return of The Shoe Project to Vancouver this year!
- January 20, 2024 (7 PM)
- January 21, 2024 (2 PM)
The project brings a group of immigrant and refugee women together with professional writing and theatre coaches, to develop powerful personal stories which the women present in person at a public event.
Each story is built around a pair of shoes – perhaps precious shoes they left behind, or shoes they dreamt they’d wear in their new lives. Their stories are enlightening, moving, and inspiring. Attending The Shoe Project event is a unique and unforgettable experience!
The events are provided by the Pacific Immigration Resources Society (PIRS).
This year, The Shoe Project cohort includes women from Ukraine, Somalia, Syria, Mexico, India, Iraq, Colombia, and Albania. Join us for an evening filled with their powerful stories that will stay with you long after the event!
