Oh My, COVID
COVID, coronavirus, or a pandemic? What is my feeling about it? I wish I had a simple answer to that. There is never a coin with just one side, and there isn’t one way for me to describe my feelings towards COVID.
I am fearful. Fearful for my kids, fearful for the family living across the ocean from us, and fearful of what the new normal will look like.My fear doubled when I heard that my relatives and people I know contracted the virus.
I am grateful. I was just getting ready to end my maternity leave and go back to work when the pandemic hit. I had to switch jobs and luckily I found a job that allowed me to work from home. I am grateful because it means I can spend more time with my baby and my family.
I got to start my herb garden in my house that I wished for a long time.
We got to work on our backyard, which had been pending for over a year.
I have more time for myself to eat better and be creative.
I have no daycare expenses while the kids are still at home.
The world around me looks a lot greener than it once looked.
My gratitude list is longer than my fears, and I hope it gets longer. I wish everyone safety and ease during times like these.
