COVID-19 Renaissance

I was recovering from a divorce when the pandemic started. My work in the spa as an aesthetician slowed down, and I had to accept employment in a cleaning company. That at least put food on the table, and I am grateful for that.

I had planned to attend a spiritual/self-encounter retreat in Guadalajara, Mexico which is in the region I come from. My plans were cancelled due to COVID-19, so I decided to work hard, learn something new, and take care of myself and my children. I discovered an online course to study Toltec Mexican Reiki, which excited me because I am of Toltec ancestry. Toltec spirituality helps human beings reach tranquillity and higher consciousness. The more I learn, the more I believe that is my calling and mission. Now I feel like I have discovered a wellspring that gives water to the thirsty.

I also had the chance to explore nature and find my strengths by climbing mountains on long hikes. If I had worked at the spa for those long hours, I would not have discovered what mother nature had to show me. All this time, I developed new senses. I grew as a human being, and I became more intentional and meditative. I came to understand that chaos comes before order. This quarantine allowed me to order my ideas, align with the universe, and define my ultimate goals. It is like climbing a mountain that reveals other peaks to climb and other lessons to learn. I am thankful for this time of spiritual growth, and I look forward to the next mountain top to reach.
