Are you an immigrant or refugee woman interested in writing?
Do you want to tell the story of how you came to Canada?

 

October 2022 – March 2023

 

WHAT WILL WE DO?

Twelve women will work with author Sharada Eswar to create a 600-word personal memoir about their journey to Canada. The writing session is followed by performance coaching with theatre artist Hannah Wayne-Phillips and a public performance.

 

Mentors

Writing Mentor – Sharada Eswar, curator, speaker, storyteller, author, playwright, translator, and arts educator.
Performance coach – Hannah Wayne-Phillips, instructor at Drama School of Young People’s Theatre; has written, directed and produced two shows: Lighthouse and Fifteen.

 

ARE WE LOOKING FOR YOU?

Are you a woman (aged 18 to 80) who has immigrated to Canada as an adult? Did you learn English as a second language and are now at a mid-intermediate to high-intermediate level? Do you want to tell your story? Are you motivated to learn to write expressively and speak publicly in English?
